What we collect
- Account: your email address. You sign in with a one-time code we email you, so there is no password to store.
- Preparation data: your target role, the resume you upload (we store its text, not the file), the job description you paste, your interview answers, our evaluations and the skill scores calculated from them.
- Notifications: if you turn on notifications on a device, the address your browser gives us for sending to it and the browser and system name (for example "Chrome on Android"), so you can see in Settings where they're on. Turn them off there or in your browser at any time.
- How you found us: on your first visit, a small cookie notes the campaign tag of the link you followed, if it has one, the name of the website that sent you (for example google.com or linkedin.com, never the page or what you searched for) and the first page you opened. When you sign up we save this with your account, so we know which places bring people to Myskillgrid, and the cookie is deleted. Nothing is noted before you sign up except in that cookie in your own browser.
- Invites: if you sign up with a friend's invite link, we note who invited you, so we can give them a free interview when you make your first purchase. We don't tell them your name, email or what you bought.
- Skill cards you share: if you make a share link, the card's snapshot (see Skill cards you share).
- Messages to us: if you use the contact form, your name, email address and message, so we can reply.
- Usage and billing: which features you use, AI usage counts, and payment records from our payment provider. We never see or store your card or UPI details.
How we use it
Only to provide Myskillgrid: to personalize interviews, evaluate answers, track your progress, run your account and payments, and prevent abuse. We do not sell your data, show it to recruiters or employers, or use it for advertising.
Who processes it
- AI agent: your resume, job description and answers are sent to the AI service behind our AI agent to generate questions and evaluations.
- Voice input: if you answer out loud, your browser's speech service (for example Google in Chrome) shows live captions, and your answer is recorded and sent to our AI agent to be transcribed accurately. We delete the recording as soon as it is transcribed (any left behind by an error within a day) and keep only the text.
- Interviewer voice: the questions you hear are generated by our AI agent from the question text. No personal data is sent for this beyond the question itself.
- Email: your email address is sent to Brevo, our email provider, to deliver your sign-in and sign-up codes.
- Payments: Razorpay processes card, UPI, netbanking and wallet payments for us. We never see or store your card or bank details; Razorpay shares back only that a payment succeeded and its ID.
- Notifications: notifications travel through your browser's own push service (Google for Chrome, Edge and most Android browsers, Mozilla for Firefox, Apple for Safari). They are encrypted so that only your device can read them, and hold only the notification's title, a short line and a link.
- Hosting: our cloud hosting provider, only for running the service.
Institutes and colleges
If you join a batch run by your institute or college, its staff can see your name, email, and your readiness, skill scores and session scores for the batch's job, from the sessions you start after joining. They never see your answers, recordings or resume, your sessions from before you joined, or your sessions for other jobs. Joining is your choice: you agree on the batch's join page, and you can leave from Settings at any time, after which the institute stops seeing your progress. Institutes use this information only to help their students prepare.
Skill cards you share
Only if you choose to, you can make a link to a skill card. It shows your first name (only if you type it in), the job you're preparing for, your readiness score and your top 3 skill scores on the day you made it, and a preview picture of the same for apps that show link previews. It never shows your answers, recordings, resume, email or any other scores, and it doesn't change as you keep practicing.
The card is public to anyone who has the link, including apps such as WhatsApp and LinkedIn when they show a preview. It isn't listed anywhere on our site, and it asks search engines not to include it. You can remove a card at any time in Settings: the link then stops working and its preview picture is deleted. Copies someone else has already saved, such as a screenshot, are outside our control. Your cards are also deleted with your account.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can access, correct and erase your data, and withdraw consent. You can update your profile at any time and permanently delete your account and all your data from Settings.
Retention and security
We keep your data while your account exists and delete it when you delete your account, except payment records we must keep by law (the amount, date, plan, receipt and the email you paid from). Our nightly backups, kept to recover from a fault, hold copies for up to 14 days after that, and are then overwritten. We also keep a scrambled code made from your email address (not the address itself), so that signing up again with the same address doesn't restart the free trial. Data is sent over HTTPS and visible only to you inside the app.
